Lot 35D
Central Europe, La Tene culture, ca. 500 to 0 BCE. A small curved knife blade, made of iron, with a stamped design along the top edge of the blade. An iron nail/pin in the tang shows where a handle, probably made of perishable material like wood or cloth, was once attached. The stamped design along the top of the blade gives this a unique look - it is a series of small leaf-like patterns that run the entire length of the blade. Perhaps this design had personal significance to the person who commissioned the piece. Comes with custom stand. Size: 8.25" L x 0.95" W (21 cm x 2.4 cm)
