Description:

**Originally Listed At $1000**

Ancient Central / Northern Europe, Celtic Iron Age, ca. 5th to 1st century BCE. A forged iron spear head of considerable length bearing a conical socketing shaft and a sturdy shoulder. The elongated petaloid blade features sharpened edges, a pointed tip, and hundreds of petite chevron-shaped impressions decorating the surfaces. The density of the impressed motifs - not often seen on iron weaponry - suggests that this spear head was personalized by the smith who created it. Size: 20.3" L x 2" W (51.6 cm x 5.1 cm)
