Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Chihuahua, Casas Grandes, Villa Ahumada type, ca. 1350 to 1450 CE. A hand-built pottery jar of a rounded form with a squat neck and a pair of loop handles. The wheat-hued exterior surface is densely adorned with hand-painted black and red pigment that forms bands of checkerboard patterns, elongated steps, and bands of red and black rectangles along the top. Size: 7.28" Diameter x 5.4" H (18.5 cm x 13.7 cm)
