Pre-Columbian, southwest Mexico, Casas Grandes, ca. 1350 to 1450 CE. A hand-built and highly-burnished pottery vessel decorated with red slip. The round-bottomed vessel has a globular body, a squat neck, and a projecting frontal rim displaying an abstract human face with impressed eyes and protruding ears. Size: 6.875" W x 6" H (17.5 cm x 15.2 cm).
