Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes (Paquime) culture, Ramos Polychrome type, ca. 1150 to 1450 CE. An attractive pottery jar, hand-painted with 2 bands of nested steppe, scroll, and geometric motifs in burnt orange and black on a beige ground. The vessel presents a wide hip that tapers to a sloped shoulder, a corseted neck, and a gently flared rim, all supported by a rounded base with a slight wobble granting it a lovely bit of character. Size: 9.3" Diameter x 8.4" H (23.6 cm x 21.3 cm)
