Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A hand-built pottery jar of relative spherical form with highly burnished surfaces and a beige-hued decorative ground. Atop the exterior surfaces are elaborately painted black and red pigments formed into circle-filled bands, curving stripes, wide triangles, and other linear motifs that dazzle the eye. Size: 7.44" Diameter x 6.4" H (18.9 cm x 16.3 cm)
