Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Paquime/Casas Grandes, ca. 1150 to 1450 CE. A fine pottery bowl, hand built in a zoomorphic form resembling a badger. Enveloped in beige slip with mesmerizing orange and black designs of nested spiral and triangular motifs, the vessel displays a bulbous body with a rounded base, an attenuated neck, and a pointed snout with a delineated mouth and nostrils, the verso of which opens up to the interior basin. Size: 6.5" L x 5.5" W x 6.6" H (16.5 cm x 14 cm x 16.8 cm)
