Description:

Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua, Mogollon culture, Casas Grandes or Paquime, ca. 1130 to 1450 CE. A wonderful pottery jar with a bulbous body, carinated shoulder, and a flared rim. Enveloped in beige-hued slip, the exterior of the vessel is adorned in red and black-painted geometric decoration of linear, dotted lattice, circular, and nested motifs. Suspension holes on the rim of the vessel would have allowed it to be hung for safe keeping or cooking. A lovely example! Size: 6.75" Diameter x 5.5" H (17.1 cm x 14 cm)
