Description:

Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Greater Mogollon, Casas Grandes, Convento, ca. 700 to 1450 CE. A pair of utilitarian Convento textured jars of stable, round-bottomed forms with a globular midsection and an everted rim, the surfaces of both are treated with scoring or incising and corrugation on their exteriors. The textured surfaces probably aided in gripping and carrying when slippery / wet from cooking or use. Size of larger: 6.5" Diameter x 6" H (16.5 cm x 15.2 cm); smaller: 5" Diameter x 4.5" H (12.7 cm x 11.4 cm)
