Description:

Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A hand-built and stone-burnished pottery jar of spherical form with a slender but stable base, a bulging midsection, and a flared rim above a corseted neck. Ample black pigment covers much of the buffware surface in motifs of steps, spirals, parallel stripes, and making use of negative space; the underside is undecorated. Size: 8.66" Diameter x 7" H (22 cm x 17.8 cm)
