Ancient Near East, the Levant, Canaanite people, ca. 2nd millennium BCE. A cast-bronze axe head with an ovoid socket, a ribbed tong-shaped blade, and two elliptical piercings to each face extending to the socket. Beautiful layers of green and russet patina cover the entirety of the axe head form. Size: 1.625" W x 3.75" H (4.1 cm x 9.5 cm).
