Ancient Central Asia, southern Azerbaijan and northern Iran, Ardabil region, Meshkinshahr, Bronze Age to Iron Age, ca. 2000 to 800 BCE. A pair of blackware pottery vessels, comprising a squat pot and a pitcher. Both vessels feature stone-burnished surfaces that lend a reflective quality to their gray-black hues, enhancing the visual appeal and craftsmanship of these ancient forms. Size of pitcher: 6.5" W x 6" H (16.5 cm x 15.2 cm)

Provenance: Private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s
