Description:

South America, Brazil, early Cretaceous period, ca. 125 million years old. A fossilized ray-finned fish that has undergone the process of fossilization. The fish is from the genus aspidorhynchus and has a streamlined body, a pointed mouth, a thin tail, and miniscule fins. This specimen displays several rows of tightly-packed minute scales, and now takes on earthtone hues of gray, beige, and brown. Fish displayed in original stone backing. Size: 5.125" L (13 cm).
