Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, Sumerian, ca. 3000 to 2000 BCE. A lovely necklace comprised of four tubular banded agate beads, seventy-five dark and seventy-four light disc-shaped stone beads, and one large diamond-shaped agate bead. Each agate bead has a smoky gray color, giving them a blended and complementary appearance to the smaller single-toned beads. Restrung on wire with silver-colored metal closure. Size: 21" L (53.3 cm); size of central stone: .875" L x .875" W (2.2 cm x 2.2 cm).
