Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 4th century CE. A wonderful double unguentarium formed from semi-translucent glass of a pale yellow-green hue. The vessel has a planar base, a pair of conjoined cylindrical containers with thick rims, and a pair of applied trailed handles. The elegant composition is enrobed with coils of threadlike trailing, and areas of rainbow-hued iridescence imbue the vessel with an attractiveness characteristic of ancient Rome! Size: 1.875" W x 4.4" H (4.8 cm x 11.2 cm); 4.8" H (12.2 cm) on included custom stand.
