Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful necklace comprised of hundreds of individual glass beads presenting a nice variety of shapes - rounded, tubular, and disc forms - in cobalt, peacock, and cerulean blue as well as cool spring and forest green hues - most with brilliant silvery iridescence. Interspersed at equidistant intervals are ten ovoid copper alloy beads presenting attractive silver hues due to other metals in the alloy. Strung in modern times, this is a stunning piece of wearable art! Size: strand is 40.5" L (102.9 cm); silver beads measure ~ .375" L (1 cm)
