Description:

Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. Made in the vast Roman empire that stretched from Asia Minor, to Africa and most of Europe, this very beautiful handled vessel would have been owned by a wealthy individual or senior officer of the military. Rounded base with thinning neck and flared rim; handle comprised of two heavy twisted wires flattened at base into the shape of a leaf and morphing into rounded elements at the rim, attached to the vessel with two small rivets. It has developed a wonderful deep green patina from almost 2000 years of age. Size: 5" W x 4.125" H (12.7 cm x 10.5 cm)
