Description:

Ancient Near East / Central Asia, Achaemenid Persian (ca. 550 to 300 BCE) or Sasanian (Sassanian / Sassanid) Empire (ca. 2nd to 7th century CE). A stunning necklace made from approximately thirty-four ancient disc-shaped agate beads on a modern cord with modern gold-plated findings and fifteen large round beads. The large agate beads are nearly uniform in size, with tiny agate spacer beads between them. The natural beauty of the stone has been enhanced by the creators of these ancient beads, who have polished the surfaces and shaped them so that the paler inclusions wrap around their centers, drawing the eye. A gorgeous statement that is very wearable! Length of strand: 23" L (58.4 cm); size of largest bead: 0.85" W (2.2 cm)
