Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, Guanacaste / Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A beautiful bracelet composed of eighteen beads carved from stone of either pale sage-green, blue, or blue-green hues. The beads are shaped in tubular, corseted spool, lozenge, and drop forms, with some vaguely resembling abstract zoomorphic creatures. Strung in modern times and capped with a modern 14K gold loop and lobster clasp, this is a fabulous and wearable example of ancient art meets modern fashion! Size (bracelet): 8.25" L (21 cm); size of largest bead (center tube): 1.6" L x 0.375" W (4.1 cm x 1 cm); quality of gold: 14K.
