Europe / North America, Pleistocene epoch, ca. 24,000 to 10,000 years ago; Native American, Archaic to Woodlands period, ca. 6000 BCE to 1800 CE; necklace assembled ca. 21st century CE. A fascinating necklace comprised of an old Native American knapped chert spear head wrapped with copper wires and suspended from a strand of turquoise and polished jasper and agate beads. Four massive teeth possibly from prehistoric bears and perhaps felines - the lengthy feline teeth have been repaired and restored, and the bear teeth are ground down from age and use during the animal's lifetime. Size of spear head: 5.25" L x 2" W (13.3 cm x 5.1 cm); necklace strand doubled: 26" L (66 cm); largest tooth: 3.25" L x 0.75" W (8.3 cm x 1.9 cm)
