Description:

Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang, ca. 300 BCE. A distinctive pottery vessel with an unusual silhouette. Its rounded body is beautifully detailed with a pinched band of clay at the upper end and meticulously impressed cross-hatched designs across the surface. This sits atop short cylindrical pedestal foot. All resolves to a dramatically flared rim. A lovely example from the ancients of Southeast Asia. Size: 6.375" in diameter x 6.25" H (16.2 cm x 15.9 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Private Minnesotta collection
