Monica Guggisberg (Swiss, 1955 to present); Philip Baldwin ( American, 1947 to present) "Cased Blown Glass Sphere," ca. 1999 CE. A handblown glass sphere, hollow with a raised pontil mark on the base. The semi-transparent red glass is overlayed with a spotted opaque yellow and orange casing. Husband and wife collaborators, with notable solo museum exhibitions and public installations across Europe and the United States. According to the Baldwin and Guggisberg website: "The sphere is a fundamental and ubiquitous shape in our world and universe. It acts here as a building block for an image, a play on the things, beings and activities that shape our everyday world." Size: 10" Diameter (25.4 cm); 10.5" H (26.7 cm) on included custom stand.
