Northwestern Iran / Turkey, Luristan, late Bronze to early Iron Age, ca. 2000 to 400 BCE; Central Asia, Bactria, Bronze Age, ca. 2500 to 1000 BCE. A collection of copper, bronze, and leaded-copper alloy weapon heads from Bronze Age / Iron Age cultures- 3 spear heads, a miniature axe head, and a spatulate blade that might have been part of a dagger. The wavy tang handle on the "dagger" blade may symbolize a snake and was likely intended for ritualistic or funerary use rather than as a tool or weapon. Size of largest: 7" L x 2" W (17.8 cm x 5.1 cm)

Provenance: private Everett, Massachusetts, USA collection; axe and dagger acquired from Artemis Gallery in 2017 & 2016; ex- John Piscopo collection; spears acquired from Aweidah Gallery in 2003.
