Description:

Ancient Central/Western Asia, Bactrian Empire, ca. 1st millennium BCE. A beautiful and wearable necklace comprised of 42 hand-carved stones of cylindrical, ovoid, or tubular forms. The beads are carved from either banded agate or carnelian stones and have narrow drilled suspension holes through their midsections. Some of the stones are faceted and polished to a lustrous sheen, and others are rough and unpolished. Size (necklace): 26" L (66 cm); size (largest bead): 1.1" L (2.8 cm).
