Ancient Central Asia, Bactrian, ca. 2500 to 2250 BCE. An attractive necklace comprised of hand-carved, hand-drilled, and hand-polished carnelian, banded agate, and quartz crystal beads - skillfully carved in tubular, lozenge, disc, and round shapes - and arranged in a balanced design. The carnelian beads boast vibrant vermilion hues and marvelous translucency. The agate beads compliment these with their rich oxblood red hues. The white stone and quart crystal beads complement these beautifully and several present lovely banded patterns and/or translucency. What's more, mineral deposits that have developed over the ages grace the surfaces of the beads. All come together to create a stunning composition. Strung in modern times with modern findings to be both lovely and wearable! Size: 17" L (43.2 cm); largest bead (central white stone pendant) measures 1" L x .75" W (2.5 cm x 1.9 cm)
