Central Asian, Bactria, 2nd millennium BCE. A miniature cast bronze vessel or possibly a decorative element that fits neatly over the top of a mace in the form of an opium flower with curvaceous lobes, a ringed rim, and at the opposite end, a circular form incised with an eight-pointed abstract star motif. The bronze surface boasts a lovely green patina with areas of earthen encrustation as shown. Size: 1.5" in diameter x 1.125" H (3.8 cm x 2.9 cm)
