Ancient Near East, Babylon, ca. 2200 to 1550 BCE. A sculpted pottery female figure shown standing and playing a reed pipe, a common musical instrument in ancient times. She is shown wearing a long flowing gown and a broad headband, and her arms, bent at the elbow, are holding a reed pipe above her full breasts to her mouth. Large separated sections of hair frame her feminine visage comprised of coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a protruding nose, and gentle smile, as she pipes an ancient melody into the air. Custom museum-quality stand included. Size: 1.375" L x 1.625" W x 4.625" H (3.5 cm x 4.1 cm x 11.7 cm); 5.125" H (13 cm) on stand.
