Greece, Kings of Paeonia, ca. 335 BCE to 315 BCE. OBVERSE: Laureate head of Apollo right. REVERSE: Warrior on horse rearing right, thrusting spear at enemy lying below who defends with shield. Compare SNG ANS 1032. Size: 12.20 grams, 25 mm.

The exact original boundaries of Paeonia Kingdom, like the early history of its inhabitants, are very obscure; however, it is known that it was located immediately north of ancient Macedonia. The Kingdom of Paeonia was situated roughly on the same land as is now the present day country of Macedonia.
