Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico & Arizona, Late Archaic to Anasazi / Hohokam culture, ca 1000 BCE to 1400 CE. A collection of 11 hand knapped chert and obsidian projectile points and blades displayed in a modern Riker case. Included are 2 stemmed points that could be hafted on shafts and the large greenstone is highly polished to show off the natural veining and may have been ritualistic rather than utilitarian. The rest are clearly worked by human hands and have sharpened peripheries for use as handheld or hafted tools. Size (obsidian blade): 4" L x 2.25" W (10.2 cm x 5.7 cm); (case): 16.125" L x 12.125" W (41 cm x 30.8 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
