Description:

Western Greece, Archaic Period, ca. 600 to 500 BCE. A wonderful mold-made terracotta bust of an elegant female figure - perhaps a goddess - with a sensitively-rendered countenance featuring almond-shaped eyes and a focused expression, depicted in a naturalistic manner and wearing a high headdress. Several locks of lobed hair fall gently across her broad shoulders to her chest, with her slender abdomen defining her feminine appearance. Covered with a light-orange slip, this is a beautiful example replete with archaic charm! Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 3.5" H (8.9 cm); 4.375" H (11.1 cm) on included custom stand.
