Description:

Greece, Boeotian, Archaic Period, ca. 550 BCE. A hand-built terracotta female figure of a characteristically abstract style, the columnar body with outstretched, diminutive arms, a long neck rising to a bird-like face with a prominent pointed nose, and a grand volute projecting from the polos atop the head. Painted red and black striations in linear and zigzag motifs decorate the body. Size: 2.625" W x 5.625" H (6.7 cm x 14.3 cm).

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
