Ancient Near East, Holy Land, ca. 6th to 8th century CE. Ancient Judeo-Aramaic terracotta bowl with fine lines of inscription spiraling around the interior. Bowls like this example were traditionally buried under houses to catch demons and thus protect the house. Size: 6.25" in diameter x 2.625" H (15.9 cm x 6.7 cm)
