Near East, Arabian Peninsula, Yemen, ca. mid-20th century CE. A pretty pair of silver bell shaped temple ornaments that were worn hooked to the sides of a cloth headdress flanking the face like earrings. Comprised of simple hooks with an applied repousse panel at the front, and an open lattice filigree dome suspended below. Simple wire rings with dangling bell ornaments are attached along the edge. Size w/ hooks: 2" L x 1" W (5.1 cm x 2.5 cm); silver quality: 50% to 94%; total combined weight: 19.6 grams
