Description:

Native American, North America, Arizona, Apache, ca. 1930. Rare Apache beaded deer hide knife sheath. Knife comprised of 7.5" carbon steel blade and early Bakelite handle. The sheath is decorated with black and white glass seed beads stitched into three black and white cross motifs alternating with black foliage or feather patterns. The sheath has two cut slits on backside for sliding onto belt. Measurements for sheathed knife. 13"L; (33 cm) L.

  • Condition: A bit of loose stitching with minor bead losses. Leather shows age and has embedded animal hairs. Knife is a bit rusted and two hairline cracks and surface wear to handle.
