Central Asia, Afghanistan, Turkoman, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A beautiful Tekke Turkoman Turkmen silver (96%) bracelet adorned with a trio of ovoid carnelian stones set in silver bezels. The surfaces are etched with flowing curvilinear motifs atop a fire-gilded ground, and the interior peripheries are accentuated with incised cord-pattern motifs. The crescent-shaped cuff is of a sturdy design, and the outer borders are embellished with teardrop-shaped terminals. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size (bracelet): 2.75" W x 1.125" H (7 cm x 2.9 cm); (wrist opening): 1.4" W (3.6 cm); (carnelian stones): 0.6" L x 0.4" W (1.5 cm x 1 cm); quality of silver: 96%; total weight: 91.2 grams.
