Central Asia, Afghanistan, Turkoman, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. An antique Tekke Turkoman Turkmen silver bracelet (93% silver) with two registers that each feature four oval carnelian stones (8 in total) set in silver bezels amidst a fire-gilded (50% gold) ground that is engraved with beautiful curvilinear motifs. The raised borders framing these registers are also engraved with diagonal striated and beaded motifs, and the cuff bracelet resolves in teardrop-shaped terminals. Size: 2.125" L x 2.625" W x 2.375" H (5.4 cm x 6.7 cm x 6 cm); opening measures 2.25" W x 1.875" H (5.7 cm x 4.8 cm); carnelian stones .75" W x .5" H (1.9 cm x 1.3 cm); Total weight: 179.9 grams. Precious metal quality: 93% silver and gilding is comprised of 50% gold
