Salem Brothers, New York/New Jersey, USA, ca. 1898 to 1931. A stunning antique slag glass lamp with opal glass slag panels set in an octagonal shade adorned with marvelous brass-washed lead filigree overlays. The lamp body presents with elegant fluted, beaded, floral, and shell motifs. A Salem Brothers ("Salem Bros") boat-shaped logo appears on the underside of the lamp base. A special piece created by the Salem Brothers company which existed in New York from 1898 to 1922 and New Jersey from 1922 to 1931. Collectors posit that the company came to a demise with the onset of the Great Depression. Size: 16.25" W x 22.375" H (41.3 cm x 56.8 cm)

  • Condition: Normal surface wear to brass wash finish, but generally very good. Glass panels are intact. The mechanism for one of the lightbulbs does not appear to function (also has a shorter pull), but the other one does. Salem Brothers sailboat logo appears on the base.
