Description:

North America, Southwestern United States or Mexico, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A great example of an antique horse bridle made from iron and rope. The two cheek plates have loops at both ends; one for attaching the rope nose band, and the other for the curb chain links. The central chain link bit is held in place by two loops on the interior of the cheek plates. The plates are decorative and comprised of two circular shapes with four square brass pieces riveted to the centers of each. The brass is stamped with a swirling foliate design. A handsome addition to this bridle! Size: 9" L x 6" W (22.9 cm x 15.2 cm)
