Description:

Northern Europe, Viking / Norse cultures, ca. 800 to 1100 CE. A petite and finely-crafted silver bracelet with a braided and twisted composition, the teardrop-form terminals presenting an inlaid ceramic fragment inside a small cavity with a raised and folded rim. The diminutive design of this dainty adornment suggests that it was created for the wrist of a small child, possibly infantile in age. Though mostly silvery in color, the top arch and terminals display a pale metallic-blue hue. A fantastic example, and wearable as well! Size: 2" Diameter (5.1 cm); size of opening: 0.25" W (0.6 cm); total weight: 16.7 grams.
