Ancient Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Dong Son culture, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A bronze bell of a spherical form with a slit along the bottom, and tubular suspension loop. A bull head with large horns decorates one side. Size: 3.14" Diameter x 3.6" W (8 cm x 9.1 cm)

  • Condition: Stable fissures across the surface, with some clear stabilizing adhesive added within cracks. Losses to surface layers and gouges. Heavy mineral and earthen deposits on the surface and inside of the bell, and clapper ball is missing. Green patina throughout.
