Ancient Near East, Sumer, ca. early 1st millennium BCE. A carved shell stamp seal of cylindrical form depicting a figural scene & columns of cuneiform glyphs. A pair of standing figures present themselves in front of a larger, seated figure, perhaps a god or king, and a pair of cuneiform columns are present behind the seated figure; the glyphs are worn and illegible. Custom putty rollout included. Size: 0.61" W x 0.94" H (1.5 cm x 2.4 cm)
