Ancient Central / Eastern Europe, Black Sea region, Scythian culture, ca. 4th century BCE. A lovely, heavy cast-bronze belt or strap attachment depicting the head of a roaring lioness. The fierce feline displays sizable fangs and ears held in a pulled back position. Rectangular integral attachment lug on the reverse. Size: 2.75" W x 2.625" H (7 cm x 6.7 cm)
