Description:

Ancient Near East / Central Asia, Sassanian (Sasanian / Sasanid) Empire, ca. 3rd to 6th century CE. A beautiful wheel-cut glass bowl, translucent and pale-green in appearance, with a slight concave base, tall walls, a thick rolled rim, and a deep interior cavity. The outer surfaces are decorated with a repeating faceted design which covers the entirety of the exterior. Thick areas of silvery and rainbow iridescence envelop the surface, with scattered areas of golden iridescence nicely complementing the vessel's muted sage hue. Size: 3.625" W x 2.625" H (9.2 cm x 6.7 cm).
