Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A gorgeous necklace comprised of a rich assortment of 42 colorful glass beads created via the core form and frazzle techniques, as well as millefiori mosaic fused glass beads, as well as a few chevron glass beads. Restrung in a graduated arrangement with a modern clasp. Several of the beads boast a stunning rainbow and golden iridescence. Size: 16" L (40.6 cm); largest bead measures .875" L x 1.125" W (2.2 cm x 2.9 cm)

Provenance: private Walter Crawford collection, Arizona, USA, 1960 to 1970
