Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A dazzling assortment of forty-three wonderfully-colored beads made from glass, stone, and gold, created via the core-form and frazzle techniques, and the central bead is a tubular flecked stone with gold cap beads on either side. Other bead types include fused millefiori mosaics as well as striated chevron glass. Wearable for any occasion and strung in modern times with a silver-hued metal hook. Size: 21" L (53.3 cm).

Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-Walter Crawford collection, Arizona, USA, acquired between 1960 and 1970
