Ancient Near East / Central Asia, Achaemenid to Sasanian (Sassanian / Sassanid) Empire, ca. 550 BCE to 651 CE. A glass stamp seal with a conical profile and circular face engraved with a pair of figures, the aqua blue surface is almost entirely covered with a patina from age. On the seal face is a smaller standing man and the other kneels or sits, positioned between the pair is a faint X-shape that likely represents a star. The scene probably symbolizes a worshiper before a Zoroastrian deity or leader. Size: 0.75" L x 0.8" Diameter (1.9 cm x 2 cm)
