Near East / Central Asia, Persia, Iran / Turkey, ca. 1000 BCE to 300 BCE. A collection of both ancient - ranging from Iron Age and Achaemenid periods- and modern stone beads that have been strung together as an eclectic pair of matching necklaces. The ancient stone beads consist of banded agates, chalcedony, carnelian, jasper, jade, and other semi-precious stones. Modern brass spacer beads are strung between each stone to prevent chipping, and they are set on modern wires of different lengths, perfect to wear together or separate! Size of strands doubled: 32" L (81.3 cm); shorter strand: 49" L (124.5 cm); largest bead: 1.5" L x 0.5" W (3.8 cm x 1.3 cm)

Provenance: private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s
