Ancient Near East, North Syria, Syrian culture, ca. 1500 BCE. A hand-built buffware votive bull with a slender body, raised neck, and conical head, all atop a quartet of nubbin legs. The raised head features a pair of applied circular eyes, a lightly grooved brow line, incised nostrils and mouth, and a pair of horns emanating from the top. Size: 3.875" L x 1.9" W x 2.8" H (9.8 cm x 4.8 cm x 7.1 cm)
