Description:

Near East, Mesopotamia / Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A pottery head fragment of a beardless figure with a short headdress / coiffure framing the visage. This may have been painted at one time with more detail - especially the oversized eyes which often symbolized attentiveness and devotion in Near Eastern cultures. Size: 2" L x 2" W (5.1 cm x 5.1 cm); 5.5" H (14 cm) on included custom stand.
