Description:

Ancient Near East, Syria, Early Bronze Age, ca. 4th to 3rd millennium BCE. A fascinating black stone bust of a male presenting with sloped shoulders draped in a thick collar and a mantle atop an elaborate tunic as he gently bows forth his head. Minimalist yet expressive, his visage is comprised of target-motif eyes, a petite nose, and an incised mouth with down-turned corners, all crowned by a row of vertical striations, likely representing hair. Size: 1.9" W x 2.3" H (4.8 cm x 5.8 cm)
